NYSERDA Invites Developers to Build at STEP The New York State Energy Research and Development Authority (NYSERDA) invites proposals from business entities or developers (Company, Developer, or collectively, Applicant) seeking to construct a building and related improvement at the Saratoga Technology + Energy Park (STEP) in the Town of Malta, Saratoga County, New York. Development must fall into one of two categories: Operations that locate at STEP must be engaged in activities related to clean-energy or environmental technologies, such as research and development, light industry, assembly, or deployment. Selected applicants shall design, finance, construct, and manage a building and related improvements with a minimum of 40,000 gross square feet (exceptions can be made on a case-by-case basis) under a ground lease from NYSERDA. The building is to be designed to comply with STEP’s Master Plan and Conceptual Design Guidelines, and New York State Executive Order No. 111, and earn at least a basic LEED® certification from the U.S. Green Building Council. At least one member of the design team is to be a LEED-accredited professional. Multiple awards are expected to be granted as a result of this solicitation.
