C9 is an advanced semiconductor technology company developing and producing three new technologies:
- Silicon-carbide-based, wide-band-gap, superlattice wafers for high-power electric-switching devices and high-temperature, high-speed chips
- Lightweight isotopes, specifically silicon 28, silicon 30 and carbon 13, that possess the enhanced thermal characteristics needed for improving both silicon and silicon-carbide-based wafer products

The firm leads the solar industry by making solar applications simple, working with each customer to meet their needs. groSolar has strong relationships with leading manufacturers including Evergreen Solar and Suntech Power, and regularly works with manufacturers in product development. The Company received outside venture investment in 2006 from a syndicate lead by SJF Ventures. A not-for-profit corporation, Linc was established by NYSERDA to foster economic development and commercialization of energy-efficient lighting products in New York State. Linc, The Lighting Cultivator, is designed to build necessary connections among research, business, and financial communities to bring new, innovative lighting products to market, and increase research and development dollars invested in New York. Linc is collaborating with Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute’s Lighting Research Center through a NYSERDA-funded program called the Lighting Technology Greenhouse. A first-of-its-kind program in lighting, the Lighting Technology Greenhouse offers technical lighting design and evaluation services, assistance in securing public funding, and introductions to potential business partners and investors.
