STEP is easily reached by any form of ground transportation:

From the east or west:

• Take I-90 (NYS Thruway or Mass Turnpike) to I-87 (the Northway) north.
• From the east, north of I-90, you can consider taking Rt. 7 to I-87 (the Northway) north.
• Continue with the directions below.

From the north or south:

• Take Exit 12 off of I-87.
• Take County Route 67 east to a major intersection with U.S. Route 9.
• Cross Route 9 (do not turn right with route 67) and continue east on Dunning Street.
• In 0.4 miles, Dunning Street turns sharply to the left. There will be multiple sharp left curve arrow signs on the right.
• Turn right at an intersecting road in the middle of the left curve arrows onto Hermes Road.
• The driveway to the STEP building is 0.1 mile on the right.

STEP is also readily reachable by almost any other transportation needs. Public transportation options include airline service via Albany International Airport (ALB), less than 25 miles away. Rail service is by three regional Amtrak stations. The Saratoga Station (SAR) is less than 6 miles away, the Schenectady Station (SDY) is 14 miles away, and the Albany Station (ALB) is approximately 33 miles away.

From Albany International Airport:

• Start out going southeast on NY-155 / CR-151 / Albany-Shaker Rd. toward Wolf Rd. Continue to follow CR-151 / Albany-Shaker Rd.
• Merge onto I-87 N via the ramp on the left.
• Take Exit 12 off of I-87.
• Take County Route 67 east to a major intersection with U.S. Route 9.
• Cross Route 9 (do not turn right with route 67) - continuing east at that intersection on Dunning Street.
• In 0.4 miles, the road turns sharply to the left - there will be multiple arrows with a road in the middle of the arrows on the right.
• Turn right in the middle of that curve onto the STEP property. The road into the Park is Hermes Road.
• The driveway to the STEP building is 0.1 mile on the right.
